This brush sheds!!! October 19, 2006 Pixie (Irvine, CA) 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
I purchased a Bare Minerals starter kit, with this brush included, from a local health and beauty store. The makeup itself is wonderful, but the brush sheds hair all over my face and clothing. The store would not refund or exchange the brush due to local health codes. I contacted Bare Minerals/Escentuals customer service directly and they would not exchange or replace the brush either. Too bad they couldn't sacrifice a 20 dollar brush to keep a potential lifetime customer. I will not ever purchase another product from this company, as they do not stand by their product and their customer service both on the phone and via e-mail was horrible. This is unfortunate, especially in light of the fact that they promise "100% satisfaction guaranteed" on their website and TV ads. I've switched to another mineral foundation (from Sephora) which works just as well, is less expensive, and has a brush that doesn't shed.
OK, but not great... September 15, 2006 laeta904 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
I recently purchased my Bare Escentuals (BE) starter kit which included the Flawless Application Brush and "Handy Buki" (small kabuki brush with a longer handle) brush for foundation application (also included "Maximum Coverage Concealer" brush which is absolutely amazing). These brushes are a good way to start learning mineral makeup application, but I found that the brushes were a little too scratchy on my sensitive skin (the "Buki" brush felt softer, but not quite soft enough and not as easy to apply because of the smaller surface area of the brush).
The MAC 182 buffer brush is a much softer (still sable I think, but softer) option but also much more expensive. I purchased the new Sephora "Professional Kabuki" (all black, not sure of the material), which is very similar to the MAC brush, but closer in price to the BE face brushes. The larger surface area of the Sephora brush also makes application easier. The BE brushes are probably ok for people with less sensitive skin, but I highly recommend looking at the MAC and Sephora brushes for more sensitive skin types.

This brush really isnt worth $23. Its probably worth ten at most. Its a really soft brush and everything...but if you Must spend that much on a makeup brush..GO the extra few dollars and buy the Bare Escentuals Kabuki brush...its ALOT bigger, softer, and easier to apply with.
Good for mineral veil and warmth August 11, 2006 S. Andres (new york, ny) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I agree with the previous reviewer in that this brush isn't worth the money. I got it in the "Get Started" kit along with the kabuki brush and prefer that one much more. The flawless face brush is good for applying mineral veil and warmth and feels great on your skin, but is very light in coverage. If you're looking for good coverage when applying the foundations, definitely go with the full coverage kabuki brush.
It is flawless. July 13, 2009 Leslie Ann Lewis (San Antonio, Texas) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
If you use Bare Escentuals make-up, you cannot go wrong with this brush. Just follow the make-up directions - swirl, tap, and buff! When you apply to your face, you should not see products on the outside bristles. If you do see it, you have too much on the brush. Making sure you have not overloaded the brush will help avoid getting make-up all over the place.
